We suggest the following changes in New World

Dear developers, we kindly request that you implement certain limitations to enhance the fairness and diversity of gameplay in your game. Specifically, we suggest the following changes:

  • Restrict each company to owning only one territory per Steam account.
  • Limit each territory-owning company to having a maximum of one to two characters within that territory.
  • Ensure that no more than one character per Steam account can own territory on the same server.
  • Allow players the option to have characters on different servers to play with friends while still enforcing the aforementioned limitations.

Currently, in many servers, a handful of companies control the majority of all territories, sometimes up to 4, 5, or even 6 territories owned by the same company. It’s highly likely that these companies have multiple characters on different servers engaging in the same strategy. This strategy involves securing territories to generate funds easily, allowing them to acquire or craft the best gear for all their alternate characters, giving them a significant advantage. Additionally, they may be involved in New World gold selling on the side.

This situation resembles an analogy of “the rich and the poor.” A select group of players is benefiting from content that should ideally benefit a wide range of players and companies. Implementing these limitations would encourage more competition between factions and companies and ensure a more competitive environment for acquiring and maintaining territories (based on town gold tax income).

The existence of factions loses its purpose when the same company and the same players dominate multiple servers. This issue is depriving the game of genuine faction and company competition.

This problem has persisted for over two years, with a recent top-voted thread on this subreddit just 17 hours ago. Players have consistently provided feedback on this matter, but the Territory Control mechanic remains largely unchanged, benefiting only a small percentage of the player population. While we understand that changes may take time, it is crucial to address this issue to maintain a fair and engaging gaming experience.
