I’ve recently learned the ropes of taking on the cave troll solo, and it’s become my go-to challenge. However, more often than not, my attempts are met with frustration due to several recurring scenarios:
1, Falling prey to other players on my way there.
2, Getting attacked by others en route, only to witness their downfall.
3, Successfully slaying the troll, only to be ambushed at the exit by campers.
4, Fending off an assault while battling the troll, just to watch my assailant succumb to a single strike.
5, Succumbing to an interloper’s misguided assistance, disrupting the troll’s attack pattern.
My grievances might sound like mere complaints, but they stem from genuine exasperation. The dynamic nature of PvPvE is an inherent part of the game – I’m not advocating for its removal.
I understand your perspective well; I too went through countless bare-bones runs to master the fight.
Now that you’ve got a handle on the troll’s mechanics, I’d recommend taking it on with some gear. A modest green set with stats tailored for the task can dispatch the boss and eliminate the reliance on poison and rupture tactics necessitated when unarmed. Moreover, this opens up better PvP opportunities for you post-troll. In the event of an interruption, you can defend yourself after eliminating the threat without restarting the fight from scratch.
Speaking from a geared standpoint, if I’m heading into the caves to face the troll, I’ll take down any potential threats – like an unarmed combatant in your case – to ensure a smoother battle. It’s not about targeting you personally, but rather minimizing complications like aggro shifts and altered attack patterns. My goal is efficiency and minimal risk, not accommodation. If my appearance signals that I’m equipped for a serious showdown, it’s on you to make the informed choice to avoid conflict or find another realm.
Regarding encounters where capable players are already engaging the troll, I’ll usually pivot to eliminating the champion and pilfering the treasure chamber while waiting for the troll to fall. This isn’t personal – it’s about optimizing my time and gains.
In all honesty, I comprehend your frustration regarding novice players with entry-level gear interrupting fights they can’t manage. It’s indeed irksome.
However, my advice remains: investing a modest sum into some basic gear can streamline and secure your farming operations, ultimately increasing your profits. It’s a pragmatic step to take, which can make your endeavors more efficient, fruitful, and, most importantly, enjoyable, win a lot of Dark and Darker Gold Coins.
