OSRS Monkey Madness Part 1 Quest Guide

Money Madness is one of the longest quests on the OSRS platform, as it is a part that relates to the Gnome quest series. In the following quest, you will have to help Narnode Shareen search for the 10th Squad that has gone missing.

Quest Requirements

In order to begin this quest, you will first need to complete The Grand Tree and Tree Gnome Village quests. You must also prepare the necessary equipment and supplies to defeat a level 195 Jungle Demon. But before that, there are a few required items that you have to bring along: Gold Bar, Ball of Wool, and Karamja Corpse (Obtained during the quest) or Monkey Bones. 43+ Prayer and Anti-poison, along with potions to restore your Prayer and Stamina are highly recommended. Other than that, Weight-Reducing Clothing and a Lockpick can be very useful during the quest.

Chapter 1

To start this quest, head to the Tree Gnome Stronghold and speak to the NPC named King Narnode Shareen. He will ask you to check out Glough’s Old Shipyard to see if you can find any clues about how the 10th squad had gone missing. He will then give you a Gnome Royal Seal, after wish you need to head to Karamja. Use the glider at the top of the Grand Tree to get there and make your way to the Shipyard to speak to G.L.O Caranock, who can be found wandering around the southern fence.

Once you’re done speaking to him, head back to the kind and he’ll order you to speak to Daero, who is the newly hired tree guardian. He is located on the 1st floor of the Grand Tree, and if you’re still struggling to find him, head towards the Blurberry Bar which is in the east direction. Once the conversation is over, you will be blindfolded and taken to an underground area. Speak to Daero there again and he will introduce you to Waydar. After that, you will have to solve a puzzle by clicking on the south-eastern panel next to the southern glider.

Start by moving 1, 2, and 3 to their correct position (in the top-left corner), and then move 4 to the top-right corner, followed by piece no. 5 under 4. Next, slide 4 to the left and 5 to the top, which will complete the top-most row. Repeat the same with the other rows while maintaining the row above it to complete the puzzle. Finally, the last two rows need to be worked from left to right, and this will result in the last two columns being two tiles high.

If you’ve completed Treasure Trails puzzle boxes before, then it’ll be quite easy for you. If you’re still struggling with it, then you can pay 200,000 OSRS Gold to Glough and skip it. Once you’re done with the puzzle in whichever way, speak to Daero and Waydar to know the last location of the 10th squad, which is the Crash Island. Now, speak to Lumdo and ask him to take you to Ape Atoll. However, he will refuse because of the orders from Garkor. Speak to Waydar again now before speaking to Lumdo again, and this time he will take you to Ape Atoll.

Chapter 2

Once you arrive, head west along the coastline to the south until you see a Mahogany Tree. From that point, change your direction to the north and keep your Protect from Missiles on because you will be attacked by countless poisoned arrows as you get near the gate. After reaching near the gate, you will be knocked out and put in jail.

When you wake up, you will notice that the cell is guarded by prison guards, Aberab and Tregaji. Speak to Luma (squad member) who is also in jail, but don’t be too close to the northern wall while speaking to him, or else you’ll be punched. Carefully analyze the pattern of the guards as they’re patrolling and strategically lockpick the cell door, and in a similar manner (without being seen), make your way outside.

Head north now, then change your direction to the east to find another member of the 10th squad, who is hiding in the bushed nearby the crafting shop. From there, go south past the big door while hiding in the tall grass so that the monkey archers don’t locate you. From there go east around the castle, until you find yourself in between the white building and the castle. You will find the 10th squad sergeant here, named Garkor.

He will ask you to speak to Zooknock, so head west from there using the same ‘tall grass’ strategy until you get through the door that is marked with a blue square. This will take you to a restricted area that is guarded by a sleeping monkey.

Go through the door and keep your feet on the dark brown ground. Be careful because there are many spiders here that can poison you. As you move further, you will find creates of bananas near the ladder to the southwest direction, and as for the guard, just refrain from talking to him because he is of no threat in the current state. Go south-east from there and search the crate to head down into the tunnel. Keep heading north-west till you find a few crates which contain the Monkey Speak Amulet mold within.

Upon reaching the dungeon, you will see a very long path that needs to be followed. Use Protect from Melee here as you go down the path, and remember to switch the Prayer on only when there are enemies nearby because otherwise, you will just be wasting your points. Rocks may fall from above along the path, so avoid them by taking shelter, and there are also claw traps that you can avoid by going around them.

At the very end, you will find squad members; Bunkwicket, Waymottin, and Zooknock. Use your Monkey Speak Amulet mold, along with a Gold Bar and Money Dentures on Zooknock once you’re done speaking to him. This will give you an enchanted bar, and don’t forget to do this or you’ll have to walk all the way back here.

Now you have to head down the trapdoor that is located in the Ape Atoll mansion and use the same protection prayer to protect yourself from the Monkey Guards. Get past them and use the enchanted bar on the wall of flames. Quickly go back up the ladder and use a Ball of Wool on the obtained item to create the Monkey Speak Amulet. From there, head west to locate a banana garden and a Monkey Child playing within. The area is guarded by the Monkey’s Aunt so don’t enter the garden when she’s there or you’ll end up in the prison again.

After she leaves, speak to the Monkey Child and tell him that you are his uncle. He will ask you to collect 20 bananas, but you can just hand him 5 and continue further. If the aunt shows up again, make sure that you hide. Speak to the child again and ask him if he can hand over his talisman. When that happens, drop the talisman and speak to him again saying that you lost it, which will make him cry. Alternatively, you can also purchase the talisman from Tutab’s Magical Market for 1,000 RSGP. Gather a talisman for every Greegree that you would prefer and then head out of Ape Atoll.

You can restock any supplies you will need further because we’re at a good point in the stage in the monkey madness 1 osrs quest. Once you’re done, head to Zooknock again through the same tunnel and use the Monkey Talisman, along with Money Bones on him to obtain a Monkey Greegree. Do the same if you want to create more Greegrees for after the quest.

Chapter 3

You can use the Greegree to turn into a monkey and no one will attack you, allowing you to freely roam around Ape Atoll. Speak to Garkor in the money form, and then equip your Monkey Speak Amulet to speak to the Elder Guard nearby. He will ask you to speak to Kruk, so you need to head west through the main gate and then right into the Marim Village until you hit the waters. Go south from there until you reach a hill, and then up the ladder till you come across a bamboo bridge. Finally, go down using the eastern ladder and speak to Kruk, who will then take to you King Awowogei.

Speak to him and suggest forming an alliance, and he’ll ask you to rescue one of his monkeys from the Ardougne Zoo. The next step is to travel to the Ardougne Zoo, and then take the form of a monkey again to speak to the person in charge of the monkey cage. He will think you somehow got out, and he’ll put you in the cage, which is where you will speak to a monkey that has the ‘Talk’ option on him when you over the over each one of them. He will slip into your inventory and that’s when you have to unequip your Greegree and talk to the Monkey Minder so that you can be released from the cage in monkey madness 1 osrs.

Now go to the next destination, which is the Gnome Stronghold, and speak to Daero on the 1st floor. After that, head back to Ape Atoll while having your Greegree equipped and speak to King Awowogei again. He will be encouraged by the task you have accomplished and will start to think about making an alliance.

Chapter 4

Speak to Garkor and he will hand you the 10th squad sigil, which is required to take part in the final battle in osrs monkey madness. Before equipping it, bank your stuff and take what’s required to fight against the Jungle Demon. Once you’re ready, equip it to teleport to the arena. You will have the 10th squad supporting you throughout the battle, but the killing blow must be done by you or the demon will regain half his again. There’s a safe spot at the edge of the arena, which you can use and range the demon from a distance. Alternatively, you can melee it and run back to the safe spot continually until it is defeated.

Once it is defeated, speak to Garkor who will then suggest you speak to Zooknock to get teleported out of the arena. This will take you back to Ape Atoll, where you have to make your escape by either using a teleport or walking through the main gate with a Greegree equipped. Finally, head back to the Gnome Stronghold and speak to King Narnode to complete the quest. Are you ready to take on osrs monkey madness 2?
